Both the Jedi and Sith reduced to barely nothing. Though in the end neither actually destroyed one another. Malgus considered that he could do the current Sith a favor. Destroy this Jedi and help them crush the order completely.
He thought back to the Jedi apprentice who hunted him down in order to kill him. They were both ultimately betrayed by their Orders. And now it is once again a Jedi who shares a similarity to his situation. Both lost and away from their orders.
